Description:
PURPOSE

Under general supervision, provides sales and customer service activities to both retail and contractor customers, utilizing knowledge of sales techniques and industry knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Provides customer service to walk-in retail or contractor customers, or via telephone or email, including assisting customer inquiries with product selection, pricing, availability, refunds/exchanges; generates sales quotations requiring a working knowledge of company products, procedures and practices.

2.

Actively engages in selling company products/services and related items. Provides material take offs, estimates and pricing of large packages (decks, garage, millwork, kitchen, bath, doors, etc.). Enters orders into computer system.

3.

Schedule the production and delivery of orders with store operations.

4.

Uses customer calls as opportunities to provide information about the features and benefits of company products leading to developing and closing new accounts. Actively engages in researching, identifying and soliciting new customers for company products.

5.

Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.

6.

Trouble-shoots order processing issues in order to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize sales opportunities.

7.

May participate in coordinating and conducting customer workshops.

8.

Assists less experienced Inside Sales Representatives.

9.

May assist with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, inventory control, and other related activities.

10.

Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

11.

Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge of company product pricing, discount and estimating formulas and guidelines

·

Knowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts and the ability to influence and persuade

·

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program

·

Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) year of experience in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Standing or walking for 80% of the day. Stooping and kneeling throughout the day.

May be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds frequently; up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Occasionally will use hand tools, saws, forklift, pallet jack to assist customers.

Reaching-extending the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Handling-seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
